COM Alert - Auto Burglary at KTD - Nov. 8, 2017

COM Police SealOn Tuesday, November 7, 2017, between the hours of 6:10 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. an unknown suspect burglarized an automobile in Parking Lot 12 at College of Marin's Kentfield Campus. The window of the vehicle was broken to gain entry. A camera and tripod were reported as stolen from the vehicle.

College of Marin Campus Police are encouraging individuals to engage in a few simple practices to prevent being victimized: 

HIDE IT, LOCK IT, OR LOSE IT

Hide it: If you don’t have a trunk, hide valuables under your seat, in the glove box, or other compartments within your vehicle.

Lock it: Lock your vehicle every time you leave it unattended and always lock your valuables in the trunk.

Keep it: Personal responsibility is the best prevention to safeguard personal property and to prevent becoming a victim.

The holidays are fast approaching; secure gifts, packages, and shopping bags out of plain view as well.

Most importantly, if you observe any suspicious activity or behavior such as an individual loitering around vehicles, peering into vehicles, and/or trying door handles, or wandering into an office area without legitimate business, call 9-1-1 immediately.
