About Us

College of Marin is part of the renowned California Community College system. Our goal is to help each student achieve their academic dreams. We do this by providing excellent support from the moment you connect with us through dedicated staff who understand the unique needs of international students.

Your Pathway to Success

Whether through transfer, degree completion, or building your skills in various ways, College of Marin provides an award-winning experience and fantastic economic value.

Most international students at College of Marin come to us with the intent to transfer to one of the University of California (UC) or California State University (CSU) institutions. Transfer pathways can be a fantastic way to save money on your education and greatly increase your admission statistics. In fact, 91 percent of UC transfers come from California community colleges and more than 40 percent of CSU undergraduate transfers.

The COM Difference

At College of Marin we are among a select group of community colleges to offer strong transfer pathways to many four-year institutions through programs such as the Transfer Alliance Project (TAP), Berkeley Pathways, and the Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program. Through our robust transfer programs, College of Marin offers:

  • Individual academic and transfer counseling with in-house faculty.
  • UC Berkeley-specific transfer guidance and formalized transfer pathways
  • Frequent on-campus representative visits from UC Berkeley and other nearby institutions.
  • Guaranteed admission to one of 23 CSU universities, including Cal Poly, San Diego State, and Sonoma State.
  • Guaranteed transfer pathways to six UC institutions, including Davis, Irvine, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz.
  • Guaranteed admission pathways to other institutions such as independent, out-of-state, and HBCUs.

Campus Locations

The surrounding area is safe and peaceful, with easy access to hiking trails, beaches, mountains, and abundant city nightlife. Kentfield (our main campus) is just minutes away from San Francisco across the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge, our Indian Valley Campus is located on a picturesque nature preserve, and our Bolinas Field Station is currently being restored to be a one-of-a-kind hands-on educational facility for environmental research along the California coastline.
