Dear College of Marin Faculty:
We have been working to develop additional resources and professional learning opportunities to assist you with remote instruction and student support strategies. The first, Fostering Well-being and a Community of Care During COVID-19, will take place this Friday and you will receive a separate Zoom invitation. Additional sessions will be forthcoming (dates and times TBA) and include:
- Engaging students online: Tools to increase student engagement and peer connections
- Screencasts and Video Recordings: Creating, storing, and sharing
- Using Canvas Pages: Increasing the accessibility of your course content
- Beyond Zoom – Diversifying instructional practices in the remote learning environment
- Exams – Design and facilitating; Proctorio; other options for students who do not have cameras/access to be able to use Proctorio
- Shifting our practices – What are some ways we can provide instruction remotely that depart from regular face-to-face practices?
These sessions will be recorded and made available if you are not able to attend the live meeting. Additionally, the Statewide Academic Senate is providing a series of discipline-specific webinars you may find useful. See below my signature line for details.
Please reach out if you need anything at any time. Again, thank you—and stay safe and be well.

ASCCC: Discipline-Specific Discussions | April 1-8, 2020
The Academic Senate for California Community Colleges is committed to providing resources to the field to further empower and help our system move forward during this time of crisis. To that end, the Academic Senate has put together a series of professional development opportunities to address some of the most critical issues facing our students and faculty today including, teaching laboratory courses online, assessment integrity, using CANVAS, and more. Each discussion is offered multiple times during the week and is limited to 15 participants to enable rich dialogue and discussion. The discussions will not be recorded but promising ideas will be posted and shared on our website. Future webinars are being scheduled for large audiences that will be recorded and archived. If you have any questions or suggestions on other disciplines to include, please email info@asccc.org.
