College Convocation
Wednesday, January 18, at 9 a.m.
KENTFIELD, CA—January 5, 2017—Spring Flex Week is just around the corner, and a great lineup of activities for faculty and staff is scheduled. Topics include technology training, teaching and learning, communication skills, stress management, art, dance, and more. For those who are thinking about their financial future, retirement planning sessions by representatives from CalSTRS and CalPERS are available. Also scheduled is a kick-off session for the College's 2017-2018 COMmon Read. Faculty and staff can find the Flex-at-a-Glance Calendar and the full description of activities on the Professional Development web page. Some activities require an RSVP, so please check the schedule carefully and follow up accordingly.
Convocation will be held Wednesday, January 18, in the James Dunn Theatre beginning with a continental breakfast from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and the program from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Department meetings will be held in the afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Faculty should check with their department for location information. January 18 is a mandatory Flex day for full-time faculty.
Non-perishable food items for the College's new food pantry will be collected at Convocation. This is a great way to help meet the very real needs of some of our students who are food insecure, and donations will be gratefully accepted.
