Performing Arts Instructor Paul Smith Wins Milley Award

Awards Recognize Outstanding Contributors to Mill Valley Cultural Life

KENTFIELD, CA—On Sunday, October 18, Performing Arts Instructor Paul Smith was honored at the annual Milley award dinner held at the Mill Valley Community Center. Smith received the Sali Lieberman Award, named in honor of the Marin Theatre Company founder and given to those who have contributed to the cultural life of Mill Valley. In addition to teaching classes at the College, Smith is the artistic director of Contemporary Opera Marin, which specializes in the production, performance, and commissioning of contemporary operas. He is also founder and artistic director of the Music From Marin summer festival and longtime Mountain Play music director.

Don’t miss Devilish Delights II this coming weekend. Just in time for Halloween, Contemporary Opera Marin will perform two fully staged, 30-minute choral operas based on medieval themes and sung in English.
