2017-18 COMmon Read
Join the College of Marin Library for a year-long, college-wide, celebration of Hidden Figures, the inspiring true story about African-American female mathematicians at NASA who played a pivotal role in the space program. Throughout 2017-18, faculty, staff, and students will examine the story of these determined and talented women, the times they lived in, and the discrimination they endured. The book will be explored in classes through a variety of lenses including English, history, ethnic studies, sociology, psychology, astronomy, physics, and--of course--mathematics. In addition to in-class activities, there will be lectures and special events open to all to come together and inspire the College and community.
