Congratulations Trustee Wanden Treanor!
This spring Trustee Wanden Treanor was named to the Marin Women’s Hall of Fame Class of 2017. A committee of Marin community leaders and Hall of Fame members selected Trustee Treanor and four other finalists. Trustee Treanor, Zara Babitzke, Virginia Edwards, Paola Gianturco, and Linda Tavazi were inducted at the organization’s 30th annual ceremony and dinner held March 30 in San Rafael. The Marin Women’s Hall of Fame is a project of the YWCA of San Francisco and Marin. Since its creation 30 years ago more than 140 women have been inducted. Trustee Treanor was honored in the community services category for her work with organizations focused on empowering disadvantaged groups. This work has included providing free legal services with Marin Legal Aid, serving as president of the Marin County Bar Association, and leading a political action committee to expand opportunities for the LGBT community in Marin. She has also received congressional recognition for her work with Planned Parenthood.
For her 20 years of service as a member of the College of Marin Board of Trustees, the Community College League of California (CCLC) recognized her at the 2017 Annual Trustees Conference, held May 4 through 7 in Lake Tahoe. The service award was presented by CCLC President and CEO Larry Galizio.
COM appreciates Trustee Treanor's continued leadership supporting our students and the College.
