Amplify Your Generosity on  #GivingTuesday logo

KENTFIELD / NOVATO, CA— November 26, 2018— #GivingTuesday is a global giving movement inspiring people to act to improve their communities, give to the charities in which they believe, and make the world a better place to live.

Join College of Marin (COM) on this day dedicated to giving back, and amplify your generosity by making a donation that will benefit COM students.

Last year, many donated to COM Cupboard, which reduces food insecurity by providing fresh produce and various pantry items to students in need. Students are better able to focus on their classes when they have access to nutritious foods.

Donations also funded student scholarships or book grants for low-income students—many of whom are the first in their families to attend college. Financial assistance helps lessen the burden of class fees, books, and supplies. Students are able to work fewer hours outside of class and spend more time learning.

With nearly 60 percent of COM students receiving financial support, your tax-deductible donation of $50, $100, $250, or more to our #GivingTuesday campaign can make attending college more affordable.
As you can see, there are opportunities to change the world locally. Help us reach our goal to raise $15,000 by December 31 so that we may continue to award scholarships and provide services to our dedicated, hard-working students.
Each gift is important, no matter the size. Donate at advancement.marin.edu to make a secure gift online. COM employees can make a monthly gift using the Payroll Deduction Form. If you have any questions, please call Linda Frank in the Advancement Office at (415) 485-9528 or email lfrank@marin.edu.

About #GivingTuesday
Founded by the team in the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact at 92nd Street Y, #GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses, and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. This year, #GivingTuesday falls on November 27. #GivingTuesday harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season. It inspires people to take collective action to improve their communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they believe in, and help create a better world. #GivingTuesday demonstrates how every act of generosity counts, and that they mean even more when we give together.
