Q. What does Pride mean to you?
A. Self-acceptance as a gay man. Pride also means remembering with gratitude LGBTQ+ pioneers like Harvey Milk and Phyllis Lyon and Del Martin who paved the way for people like me.
Q. What is your call to action around LGBTQ+ solidarity?
A. I call on all people of goodwill to come together to defend the rights of historically oppressed people worldwide. I call on you, whoever you are, to use the ways that you have been wounded to heal the hurts of others. Your wounds are salve: use them!
