Law Enforcement Training Exercises at Indian Valley Campus

Marin County Sheriff's Office organizes field scenarios for local agencies through August 30

KENTFIELD, CA—July 12, 2017—Training for local law enforcement began today at College of Marin's Indian Valley Campus (IVC). The Ohlone Cluster (Buildings 18, 19, and 20) will be used for the training set to take place over a number of days through the end of August. This training is run by the Marin County Sheriff's Office and several local police agencies will be participating. Field training exercises have been held at IVC before and the College is honored to be the host site once again.

Scenarios will be run that may include popping sounds, yelling, general commotion, and the presence of replica firearms and police vehicles around Parking Lot 4. Paths and roads leading to the exercise area will be blocked off. Faculty, staff, students, neighbors, and individuals in the area are advised to conduct their normal business on campus while avoiding the area around the Ohlone Cluster. Training sessions are not expected to have any impact on existing classroom instruction or campus activities.

  • Thursday, July 27
  • Wednesday, August 2
