Commencement Guests Information

We are excited to welcome friends and families to the College of Marin. The information below will assist guests in making arrangements to attend the Commencement ceremony.

Where will the Commencement ceremony be held?

The Ceremony will be held at the College of Marin Pieper Field. Please see the Kentfield Campus map and directions to College of Marin Pieper Field700 College Ave., Kentfield, CA 94904.

Do I need a ticket?

Tickets (provided at registration) are required for entry and students are limited to no more than 4 guests. Seating is limited on a first come first serve basis. 

IMPORTANT NOTE
A ticket link was sent to your email after you registered. Graduates and transfer students check-in separately from family and guests. You MUST print your tickets and provide them to your guests prior to checking in at the student check-in.

Marshals (faculty and staff) will be managing aisles and walkways, therefore, guests should be advised that entrance to the ceremony is closed at 6 p.m. Seating may only be available in the overflow bleachers after 6 p.m.

There is specific seating designated for individuals with a mobility challenge. Please arrive early to secure your seating if this is a need for an individual in your party.

NOTE: Pieper Field is flat and 100% accessible. However, the location of the ceremony will require walking.

What should I wear?

Faculty, Graduates and transfer students must wear regalia (available from the COM Student Store). The surface of the turf is synthetic. Heels are not recommended. Guests can dress in comfortable appropriate clothing.

NOTE: The ceremony is outside and the weather may be unpredictable. All participants and guests should dress accordingly. Sunscreen is also recommended.

NOTE: Large bags are NOT PERMITTED on Pieper Field. Small bags are subject to search and screening. There is no smoking or vaping on Pieper Field.

Where can I park?

Limited Parking will be available in all campus parking lots. A limited amount of Accessible parking will be available in parking lot 12 on a first-come, first-serve basis. Traffic will be directed by Campus Police and will be on a first come first serve basis. Guests are advised to arrive early. Commencement starts promptly at 6 pm. Can I take photos of my graduate?

Yes, guests may take photos of their graduates from their seats. Guests will not be able to enter the aisles, approach the stage, or walkways to take photos and will kindly be asked to go back to their seats if this occurs.  There will also be a professional photographer on site who will capture photos of each graduate as they exit the stage.

Where can I buy flowers and other gifts?

A vendor will be on-site selling flowers and other items for your convenience.
