Banned Books Week brings together readers in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular. Since Banned Books Week falls near Indigenous People's Day and National Native American Heritage Month, it presents a timely opportunity to recognize erasure of history and Indigenous authors who have faced challenges and bans of their creations.
