Eligibility
- First-generation student
- Low-income background
- GPA of 2.5 or higher in the 8th grade
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA throughout high school
Interested 8th or 9th grade students should complete an online application. Once submitted, a COMPASS coordinator will reach out to you within 5 business days. Currently accepting applications for Terra Linda, San Rafael, and Tamalpais High Schools.

I joined COMPASS as a new transfer student, halfway into my sophomore year. COMPASS helped me find community on campus and feel seen—they wanted to see me succeed and provided many tools from college readiness to a small family-like tutorial. As a junior, I was able to take psychology through COM which benefited me in many ways. I know that I can always find guidance and help in COMPASS, no matter what my needs may be. I’m so grateful for COMPASS and all that they’ve done for me so far!

When I took my first class at the College of Marin, I was excited but a bit nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. I realized there are many differences between high school and college, and I am happy that I got the opportunity to learn how to navigate through a college class as a high school student. I am so proud of myself for taking college classes while in high school and I know my parents are proud of me too. I am glad I have completed 9 college units in my first two years of high school, and I look forward to taking more classes in the semesters to come.

I have been in the COMPASS program since my freshman year of high school. COMPASS is a great program that has supported my education in several different ways. With the help of awesome coordinators who check in with me continuously and the COMPASS staff, I have achieved success at COM. I am in my second year at COM and plan to major in Nursing.
