President's COVID-19 Update

December 21st, 2021 - 10:47am

Dear College Community,

I would imagine that the majority of you are now off the grid - hopefully enjoying your well-deserved holiday break.  That said, I thought it was important to provide a brief update on our continued response to COVID-19.  I assure you that we are closely monitoring the status of the Omicron variant and any potential impact to our plans for spring semester, and will continue to do so throughout the holiday break.

The health and safety of our employees and students remains our highest priority.  We will continue to coordinate our COVID response by following the guidance of county and state health officials.  I am also keeping a watchful eye on how other colleges and universities are responding to the new variant to see what wisdom there may be to gain from others.  If necessary, I will convene an emergency meeting of the District’s COVID Oversight and Implementation teams.  The best thing we can all do at this point to help protect ourselves and the broader campus community is to get the vaccine booster if you have not already done so.

Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility as we address the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic.  I commit to providing you with another update just after the break.

Wishing you and yours a happy holiday season!  Here’s to good health, happiness, prosperity, and sanity in 2022!

Respectfully,

David
