MARIN ORATORIO
Boyd Jarrell, director
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart — Great Mass in C minor, K 427
Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, K. 165
The 100-voice Marin Oratorio chorus and orchestra present an all-Mozart concert of sacred choral works. Mozart’s Te Deum is the work of a youthful 13-year-old nascent master. From his late Salzburg period, his Ave Verum Corpus is a gem of reverence, simplicity, and beauty, while Vesperae Solennes de Confessore contains choruses and arias beautiful enough to earn a spot in any of his operas. The Great Mass in C Minor, of which Pope Francis said is “matchless” and “lifts you to God”, is a triumph of counterpoint and lyricism. Marin Oratorio will be joined by guest vocal soloists Rita Lilly, Christa Pfeiffer, Kyle Stegall, and Jeffrey Fields.
