One of COM’s strategic plan goals for student success is to decrease the amount of time it takes students to earn a degree. The data below show a slow, but steady decrease. The most recent set of graduates took, on average, 6.4 years to earn their degree.

Because we want to be able to determine whether our interventions designed to help students graduate sooner are working and whether we’re likely to see a decrease in the long-term performance indicator, time-to-degree, we track the shorter term metrics below. The targets were set based on the persistence and units attempted by students who had earned their degree in 5.5 years or less. As the table below shows, some progress is being made in the number of units attempted. Student persistence, though, has not changed much.
