David Wain Coon, Ed.D., Superintendent/President of the Marin Community College District, has announced that applications for the open seat on the Board of Trustees will be available through July 11, 2023, at the President’s Office, 835 College Avenue, Kentfield, CA 94904 or by calling (415) 485 9502.
Interested persons who live within the boundaries of Marin County and who are registered voters are welcome to apply for the one existing vacancy. All applications must be received by the District by July 11, 2023, and will become public records upon receipt by the District. Applicants should send a letter of interest and current resume to Micol Benet via email at mabenet@marin.edu following application submission. The current position is for the Marin County area at-large through November 2024. That means applicants who are registered voters and reside anywhere in the boundaries of Marin County will be considered for the position. However, due to redistricting which took effect during the term of the vacant position, the position will be filled pursuant to by-area representation for the November 2024 election and following terms. Therefore, only those who reside in District 5 will be eligible for this position beginning November 2024.
Candidates will be interviewed in open session by the six current Trustees at a meeting scheduled for that purpose. Questions for the existing Trustees to consider during interviewing should be submitted to mabenet@marin.edu by close of business July 11, 2023.
Inquiries from qualified individuals can be made by calling the President’s Office at (415) 485-9502.
Application period closed on JULY 11, 2023 at 5 p.m.
