B+MH+M is a virtual workshop created by Poet and teaching artist, Natalie Patterson for Art With Impact, a nonprofit that uses the emotional power of art to initiate dialogue with students on the topic of mental health. As an extension of our ongoing commitment to being culturally relevant and in alignment with anti-racist work, this workshop is Black led and Black centered. The workshop is 1.5 hours long and consists of facilitated discussion around contextualizing Black mental health, toolkit building, a talking circle, a renaming ceremony through writing poetry, and the sharing of culturally competent mental health resources.
