Update: Continued Review of Rules for International Students

July 9th, 2020 - 12:16am

Dear International Student,

We are continuing to review the rules from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP/SEVIS) regarding F-1 international students and online instruction for fall 2020.

Colleges and Universities around the United States are continuing to pressure SEVP/SEVIS to reverse this ruling. Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have filed lawsuits requesting emergency injunctions. The state of California filed a similar lawsuit today.

College of Marin is actively pursuing all options available to enable you to continue your studies and make progress toward your educational goals.

Unfortunately, we still do not have definitive answers for you regarding your fall enrollment. We understand how frustrating this is and we appreciate your patience as the information is constantly evolving. We hope to have more answers for you next week.

Please do not make any changes to your enrollment or make any travel plans at this time.

We will continue to update you with more information, and any instructions, as soon as possible.

Thank You,

Jon Horinek
Dean of Enrollment Services
