Keynote Speaker: Dr. César Cruz
Channeling 21-foot Ladders to Address 20-foot Educational Borders Dr. César A. Cruz was raised in Guadalajara, Compton and Oakland, and he’s now a 25-year veteran educator dedicated to justice. He is co-founder of Homies Empowerment, a youth and community development organization.

11 am — noon: Post-Convocation Session Health and Wellness Fair
The COM Health and Wellness Fair will showcase local and on-campus health and wellness resources to assist you in your wellness journey. Refreshments, food samples, giveaways, and much more will be provided! Come and check out the COM Health and Wellness Fair and you will be entered into a drawing for a mountain bike and other raffle prizes! This event is sponsored by the COM Wellness Program and Professional Learning Committee.
