The Call To Courage is a six-week black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC)-centered series intended for students to gain a deeper understanding of race, class, health, and how other issues may show up and affect one’s own life, community, and educational experience.

About Adrian Maldonado
YouThrive Program Manager, Adrian Maldonado emigrated to the U.S. from Michoacán, Mexico when he was five years old. He holds strong values for education, youth development, cultura and social justice. A graduate of Cal State University East Bay, Adrian majored in Criminal Justice Administration with focus in Community Alternatives and minored in Sociology. Adrian was a four year student-athlete who competed in CSUEB Men’s Soccer team and participated in the University Role Model Program, in which he facilitated life skills workshops, truancy circles and restorative justice accountability circles in the Hayward Unified School District.
Hired as a Youth Specialist, he became manager of the program in June of 2016. In 2017, Adrian participated in Sonoma County’s first On The Verge leadership program for young community leaders that provides an incubator for creating innovative solutions to long-entrenched community problems. He is one of the founding members of La Plaza of On The Move in Santa Rosa CA. Adrian received his Masters Business Administration from Sonoma State University in May 2020. Adrian is bilingual, bicultural and sits as the Vice-President of the Board of Directors for Latino Service Providers (LSP) a Sonoma County non-profit organization serving the Latinx community.
